Why We Run

We run to make a difference to Aussie kids in need throughout regional centers around Australia. Run Australia guarantee’s that 100% of every registration fee will go straight to the local cause in your community. That’s right, 100%! We facilitate an event like no other, full of festival fun, where people can run, walk or roll the streets of their local community, while raising much needed funds for a local children’s health-related project in your town.

I was lucky enough to care for a patient for 6 years and and off. She and her family were the most amazing people. Sadly, their daughter died last year. For the last few years I ran for her because she could not. This year I draw my inspiration from this family. 12 km is a drop in the ocean in comparison to the marathon that they’ve all run and continue to do so.

Positive role model

I want to be a positive role model to my family, especially my grandchildren. The youngest 4 grandchildren (ages 4 to 8 years), love to run with me during training and want to know how far they have run.  We take lots of photos and share with their parents. They love to support crew for us during ultra events. The best part of running is getting lots of hugs at the finish. I would love to run an event with my grandchildren in the next couple of years. That would be my proudest moment.

For Ella

I walk in memory of my daughter Ella who passed away suddenly two years ago from a rare brain malformation we did not know she had. Ella was 10 years old. We get a HUGE Team together to walk in her honour and raise money for SIDS & Kids – John Hunter Hospital, who have been a blessing to our family in our time of need. Last year we raised over $15,000. This year our goal is $20,000
