  • Parking & Access

Everyone wants to snare a good park on race day! Here’s where we recommend you look for a spot:

    • Ballarat Hockey Centre
    • Ballarat Aquatic Centre
    • Along Gillies Street
    • In Victoria Park, with a short walk to the Event Village

We don’t advise parking on Wendouree Parade, as the lakeside lane will be closed to traffic for some time.

  • Public Transport & Road Closure

Public transport is a great way to get to the start line on race day!

Information on the bus services operating on the event day is available on http://www.cdcvictoria.com.au/timetables-ballarat. Bus services will resume their normal timetables when the roads are reopened at the conclusion of the event.

To safely accommodate the number of participants and spectators, road closures and special event needs will be in place from 5.30am to midday. Start and finish times for the road closures and changed traffic conditions vary along the course. If the event course proceeds past your premises, we would encourage you to plan your vehicle movements around the road closure periods. For the safety of runners, any car parked on the race route will not be able to move until the final runner has passed by. Major intersections along the course of the event will be managed by traffic controllers or the police allowing motorists to cross when safe to do so. Delays are expected as the participants travel along the event course. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
